Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Onion: 1/2, chopped
- Cheddar cheese: 1 cup, shredded
- Burger sauce: 1/2 cup
- Flour tortillas: 4 large
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and onion and cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until the beef is browned and the onion is softened. Drain off any excess grease.
- Step 2: Season the ground beef mixture with salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Step 3: Spread burger sauce evenly over one side of each tortilla.
- Step 4: Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the burger sauce on two tortillas. Top with the ground beef mixture, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the beef.
- Step 5: Place the remaining two tortillas on top of the cheese and beef, burger sauce side down.
- Step 6: Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Carefully place one quesadilla in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey. Repeat with the remaining quesadilla. Cut into wedges and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, caramelize the onions before adding the ground beef.
- Leftover quesadillas can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
- Reheat quesadillas in a dry skillet over medium-low heat for best results, avoiding a soggy texture.
- Serve with a side of crispy French fries and extra burger sauce for dipping.
