- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (20 ounce) package frozen cheese tortellini
- 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, drain off any excess grease. Season with salt and pepper.
- Step 2: Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning into the cooked ground beef. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and Parmesan cheese.
- Step 4: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the tortellini over the sauce, then dollop half of the ricotta mixture over the tortellini. Spread half of the remaining meat sauce over the ricotta. Repeat layers with remaining tortellini, ricotta mixture, and meat sauce.
- Step 5: Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Step 6: Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat individual portions in the microwave until warmed through, or bake covered in the oven at 350°F until heated.
- Serve with a side salad and garlic bread for a complete and satisfying meal.
- For an extra flavorful bake, brown the ground beef with a finely chopped onion and bell pepper before adding the marinara.
