Delicious cheesy ground beef quesadillas recipe recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Ground beef: 1 pound
  • Taco seasoning: 1 packet
  • Water: 1/2 cup
  • Shredded cheddar cheese: 2 cups
  • Flour tortillas: 8 large
  • Cooking oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Sour cream: for serving
  • Salsa: for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Step 2: Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the beef is nicely seasoned.
  3. Step 3: Lay out four tortillas on a clean surface. Sprinkle each tortilla with 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, then evenly distribute the seasoned ground beef over the cheese. Top with another 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese each.
  4. Step 4: Top each filled tortilla with another tortilla.
  5. Step 5: Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook each quesadilla for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  6. Step 6: Cut each quesadilla into wedges and serve immediately with sour cream and salsa.

Notes

  • Store leftover quesadillas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat quesadillas in a dry skillet over medium-low heat for a few minutes per side to restore crispness, or microwave for a quicker (but softer) result.
  • Serve with a dollop of sour cream and your favorite salsa, or try adding some sliced avocado for extra creaminess and flavor.
  • For even melting, use freshly shredded cheese instead of pre-shredded, which often contains cellulose that can hinder melting.
