Ingredients
- Ladyfingers: 24
- Mascarpone cheese: 16 ounces
- Heavy cream: 1 cup
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
- Amaretto liqueur: 1/4 cup
- Strong brewed coffee, cooled: 1 cup
- Cherry preserves: 1/2 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Step 2: In a shallow dish, combine cooled coffee and Amaretto liqueur. Briefly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Step 3: Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers. Spoon cherry preserves over the mascarpone layer.
- Step 4: Arrange another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers on top of the cherry preserves. Spread the remaining mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
- Step 5: Cover the tiramisu and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Step 6: Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu generously with unsweetened cocoa powder.
Notes
- For best flavor, let the tiramisu chill overnight; this allows the coffee and amaretto to fully infuse the ladyfingers.
- Store leftover tiramisu, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- A dollop of whipped cream and a fresh cherry make an elegant garnish.
- If your cherry preserves are too thick, warm them slightly to make them easier to spread.
