  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Cooked chicken, shredded: 3 cups
  • Cooked ham, diced: 2 cups
  • Swiss cheese, shredded: 2 cups
  • Cream of chicken soup: 1 (10.75 ounce) can
  • Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Mayonnaise: 1/4 cup
  • Dry bread crumbs: 1 cup
  • Butter, melted: 4 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, diced ham, shredded Swiss cheese, cream of chicken soup, milk, and mayonnaise. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
  3. Step 3: Pour the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out in an even layer.
  4. Step 4: In a separate small bowl, combine the dry bread crumbs and melted butter. Stir until the bread crumbs are evenly coated.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture evenly over the top of the chicken mixture in the baking dish.
  6. Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the topping is golden brown and bubbly. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days for best flavor.
  • For perfectly reheated leftovers, add a splash of milk before microwaving to keep the casserole moist.
  • Serve with a side of steamed green beans or a crisp salad for a complete and balanced meal.
  • To prevent a soggy topping, toast the breadcrumbs lightly in a dry skillet before mixing with the butter.
