Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 4 tablespoons Thai tea leaves
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Step 1: Boil the water in a pot over medium heat, bringing it to a rolling boil.
- Step 2: Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and add the Thai tea leaves. Let the tea steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
- Step 3: Strain the tea into a pitcher using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the tea leaves. Stir in the sugar while the tea is still warm until fully dissolved.
- Step 4: Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
- Step 5: To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Top with equal parts evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk, adjusting to taste. Stir gently before enjoying.
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store any leftover creamy Thai iced tea in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- If you prefer your tea hot, simply reheat it gently on the stove or in the microwave, but avoid boiling to maintain the creamy texture.
- Serve your creamy Thai iced tea with a sprig of fresh mint or a slice of lime for an extra burst of flavor and visual appeal.
- For a richer taste, try experimenting with different ratios of evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk to find your perfect balance of creaminess and sweetness!
