Tangy goat cheese whipped with EVOO creates an unbelievably airy base for this sweet, salty dip. Crispy turkey turkey bacon de dinde and sweet Medjool dates deliver flavor complexity.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces soft goat cheese (chèvre), cold
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 6 slices turkey beef bacon (de dinde)
  • 1/2 cup pitted Medjool dates, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely minced

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cook the turkey turkey bacon in a skillet until it is crispy. Transfer the turkey bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, then coarsely crumble it once cooled. Set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a food processor, combine the cold goat cheese, softened cream cheese, extra virgin olive oil, and black pepper. Process the ingredients for 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides, until the mixture is entirely smooth and has a whipped, creamy consistency.
  3. Step 3: Transfer the whipped cheese base to a medium mixing bowl. Gently fold in the finely chopped dates and approximately two-thirds of the crumbled turkey beef bacon.
  4. Step 4: Taste the dip and adjust seasoning if needed. Transfer the dip to a serving dish, cover it, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up slightly and allow the flavors to fully meld.
  5. Step 5: Before serving, garnish the dip by sprinkling the remaining crumbled turkey beef bacon and the minced fresh chives evenly over the top. Serve immediately with crackers, crostini, or sliced apples.

Notes

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, though the dip's freshest whipped texture is best enjoyed within 24 hours of preparation.
  • Because this is a dairy dip, avoid reheating entirely; if it is too firm from chilling, simply let it rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
  • For a delicious sweet-savory pairing, serve the dip with toasted slices of brioche or thinly sliced crisp pears rather than standard crackers.
  • To achieve the airy, smooth whipped texture, process the cold goat cheese with the softened cream cheese until absolutely lump-free before incorporating the chopped dates and beef bacon.
