  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Creole mustard
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Creole mustard.
  2. Step 2: Add the celery, green onions, horseradish, paprika, lemon juice, and hot sauce to the bowl.
  3. Step 3: Stir all ingredients together thoroughly until well combined and the sauce is a uniform color.
  4. Step 4: Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more hot sauce for extra heat, or more lemon juice for tanginess.
  5. Step 5: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Creole Remoulade Sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container – the flavors actually improve overnight!
  • This sauce is best served cold; no reheating is needed or recommended!
  • Try Creole Remoulade with fried green tomatoes, shrimp po'boys, or as a zesty dip for crispy french fries.
  • For a smoother sauce, mince the celery and green onions extra finely or pulse the finished remoulade briefly in a food processor, but be careful not to over-process!
