Ingredients
- Chicken breast, boneless and skinless: 1 pound
- Ramen noodles: 2 packages
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste): 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic cloves, minced: 4
- Heavy cream: 1/4 cup
- Chicken broth: 4 cups
- Green onions, sliced: 2
Instructions
- Step 1: Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix the chicken with 1 tablespoon of gochujang and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Step 2: In a pot or large saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the marinated chicken and cook until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Step 3: Add the ramen noodles to the broth and cook according to package directions. Drain the noodles, reserving about 1/2 cup of the cooking broth.
- Step 4: While the noodles are cooking, prepare the creamy garlic sauce. In a small pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of gochujang, the remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and the heavy cream. Cook until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Step 5: Add the cooked ramen noodles and the cooked chicken to the creamy garlic sauce. Toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved noodle broth.
- Step 6: Divide the ramen between bowls and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For best flavor, store leftover ramen components separately (noodles, chicken, and sauce) in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
- Reheat leftovers gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of broth or water to loosen the sauce and prevent the noodles from drying out.
- Garnish your fiery ramen with a soft boiled egg and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added richness and texture.
- Don't be afraid to adjust the amount of gochujang to your preferred spice level; start with less and add more to taste!
