Delicious heavenly summer peach bars recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups
  • Cold unsalted butter, cubed: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
  • Powdered sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Large ripe peaches, peeled and sliced: 4 cups
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  3. Step 3: Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let cool slightly.
  4. Step 4: While the crust is baking, prepare the peach filling. In a large bowl, gently toss together the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  5. Step 5: Pour the peach mixture evenly over the partially baked crust.
  6. Step 6: Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Store leftover peach bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain their fresh flavor and prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
  • Reheat individual bars in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to gently warm them, or enjoy them chilled straight from the fridge.
  • A dollop of vanilla ice cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon adds a touch of extra indulgence to these already heavenly bars.
  • For the best crust texture, ensure your butter is very cold before cutting it into the flour mixture.
