Ingredients
- Ground turkey: 1 pound
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Honey: 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup
- Rice vinegar: 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon
- Red pepper flakes: 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Green onions: 2, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Step 2: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Step 3: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Step 4: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the ground turkey in the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and glazed the turkey.
- Step 5: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or your favorite vegetables.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat, adding a splash of water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Serve over cauliflower rice for a lighter, low-carb option.
- For extra flavor depth, try browning the ground turkey in a little extra sesame oil and letting it get nicely caramelized.
