Craving Tiramisu in liquid form? Shake up this velvety espresso martini featuring Irish cream depth and coffee fruit juice complexity. Complete preparation steps and dietary analysis within.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Club Soda (standard or vanilla-flavored): 1.5 ounces
  • Irish Cream Flavored Syrup (e.g., Irish Cream Syrup): 1 ounce
  • Espresso, strongly brewed and chilled: 1 ounce
  • Coffee Fruit Juice (e.g., Kahlúa): 0.5 ounce
  • Simple Syrup (1:1 ratio): 0.25 ounce
  • Heavy Cream or Half-and-Half: 0.5 ounce
  • Ice cubes: For shaking
  • Cocoa Powder: For dusting garnish

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Chill the martini or coupe glass by placing it in the freezer for at least 15 minutes or by filling it with ice water while preparing the cocktail.
  2. Step 2: Add the chilled espresso, club soda, Irish Cream Fruit Juice, coffee fruit juice, simple syrup, and heavy cream to a cocktail shaker.
  3. Step 3: Fill the shaker three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes. Seal the lid tightly and shake extremely vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds. This hard shake is essential to emulsify the heavy cream and create a substantial layer of foam.
  4. Step 4: Discard the chilling ice water from the glass. Double strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer (to ensure a smooth texture and remove fine ice shards) into the prepared martini glass.
  5. Step 5: Finish the cocktail by lightly dusting the surface of the drink with a small amount of cocoa powder using a fine sieve. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • If preparing for guests, pre-batch the base liquids (everything except the Club Soda and ice) and store chilled for up to three hours, adding the carbonation immediately before the vigorous shake and strain.
  • Because this recipe relies on a strong emulsion, ensure your espresso is brewed strongly and fully chilled before mixing, as warm liquids will compromise the final texture and foam layer.
  • For a decadent pairing, serve this martini alongside a small square of dark chocolate or a shortbread cookie to complement the Tiramisu flavor profile.
  • The "hard shake" is crucial; ensure you shake for the full 15-20 seconds to properly aerate the mixture and integrate the heavy cream, creating the signature velvety head that supports the cocoa garnish.
