Ingredients
- Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade): 1 pound
- Ricotta cheese (whole milk): 1 cup
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic (minced): 2 cloves
- Hot honey: 3 tablespoons
- Fresh basil leaves: 1/4 cup
- Red pepper flakes: 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt and black pepper: To taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- Step 2: Stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired shape and thickness on a lightly floured surface.
- Step 3: In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Spread the mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Step 4: Drizzle olive oil over the ricotta cheese and then carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven.
- Step 5: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the ricotta is slightly golden and bubbly.
- Step 6: Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately drizzle with hot honey. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover pizza tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat slices in a skillet over medium-low heat for a crispy crust and melty topping.
- Serve this pizza as an appetizer or light meal, pairing it with a crisp green salad.
- Don't overbake the crust; a slightly softer center complements the creamy ricotta perfectly.
