Ingredients

  • Chicken breasts: 2 large, boneless, skinless
  • Fresh mozzarella: 4 ounces, sliced
  • Fresh basil: 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Heavy cream: 1 cup
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Step 2: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side, until lightly browned but not fully cooked.
  3. Step 3: Transfer chicken breasts to the prepared baking dish. Top each chicken breast with slices of fresh mozzarella.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in chopped basil.
