The ultimate summer refresher! Strong, chilled Rooibos tea blends perfectly with tart raspberries and creamy yogurt. Requires precise tea chilling for the best texture.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Strong Brewed Rooibos Tea (cooled completely)
  • 1.5 cups Frozen Raspberries
  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 medium Banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (or water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Brew the Rooibos tea using 2 teabags in 1 cup of hot water; allow it to steep for 5-7 minutes to achieve a strong flavor, then remove the teabags and chill the tea in the refrigerator until completely cold.
  2. Step 2: Pour the cooled Rooibos tea into a high-powered blender, followed by the Greek yogurt, banana, honey, and alcohol-free vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: Add the frozen raspberries and the almond milk to the blender jar, ensuring the frozen fruit is placed last.
  4. Step 4: Secure the lid and begin blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to high until the mixture is smooth and thick, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the blender jar if needed.
  5. Step 5: Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if desired. If the consistency is too thick, add a small splash of additional almond milk or water until the desired drinkable texture is reached, then pour into a glass and serve immediately.

Notes

  • If you have leftovers, pour the smoothie into an airtight jar and refrigerate immediately, but note that separation may occur; for best results, stir vigorously before consuming within 12 hours.
  • Since this is a chilled beverage, reheating is not recommended; if the smoothie melts too much, simply blend it again briefly with a few ice cubes or a splash of frozen fruit to restore the ideal icy thickness.
  • For an elevated presentation, drizzle a teaspoon of honey around the rim of the glass before pouring, then garnish with a few fresh raspberries and a dusting of cinnamon.
  • To guarantee the rooibos flavor really shines through the yogurt and fruit, brew the tea using an extra teabag and always ensure it is bone-cold before blending.
