Indulge in these Sea Salt Caramel Cookies, where rich butter and brown sugar meet gooey caramel, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt. Follow our easy steps for a delightful treat!

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Step 3: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla bean paste until well combined.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Step 5: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie while they are still warm. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For optimal freshness, store your sea salt caramel cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • To enjoy them warm, simply reheat the cookies in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds; this will bring back their gooey caramel goodness without overcooking.
  • These cookies pair beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an indulgent dessert experience.
  • For a richer flavor, consider using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar, as it enhances the caramel notes in the cookies.
