Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla bean paste until well combined.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Step 5: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Step 6: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each cookie while they are still warm. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For optimal freshness, store your sea salt caramel cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- To enjoy them warm, simply reheat the cookies in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds; this will bring back their gooey caramel goodness without overcooking.
- These cookies pair beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an indulgent dessert experience.
- For a richer flavor, consider using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar, as it enhances the caramel notes in the cookies.
