Ingredients
- Pizza Dough (1 ball, about 14 oz.)
- Whole Milk Mozzarella (1 cup, shredded)
- Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese (1/2 cup)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Garlic (2 cloves, finely minced)
- Red Pepper Flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Hot Honey (3 tablespoons)
- Fresh Basil Leaves (8-10 leaves)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven and pizza stone or steel (if available) to 500°F (260°C). In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and finely minced garlic.
- Step 2: Stretch the pizza dough to your desired shape (approximately 12-14 inches) on a lightly floured surface or pizza peel. Brush the entire surface of the dough with the garlic-oil mixture, ensuring the edges are lightly coated.
- Step 3: Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella over the oiled base. Then, use a spoon to drop small, even dollops of ricotta cheese across the pizza surface, and sprinkle the entire pizza with half of the red pepper flakes.
- Step 4: Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone/steel or baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned in spots.
- Step 5: Remove the finished pizza from the oven. Immediately drizzle the entire surface generously with the Hot Honey. Garnish the pizza with the fresh basil leaves and any remaining red pepper flakes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Store any leftover slices tightly wrapped in foil or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To revive leftover slices, place them directly on a baking sheet in a 350°F oven for about 5-8 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is crisp again.
- For a complete meal, pair the rich white pizza with a simple, bright side salad dressed with a tangy vinaigrette to balance the richness of the cheeses.
- Reserve the Hot Honey and Fresh Basil until immediately before serving; applying them fresh ensures the basil retains its vibrant color and the honey keeps its perfect viscous texture.
